HELLO

ree

This week it is all things yoga props, equipment & accessories. Walking into a yoga class can be daunting whether new to yoga, new to a particular class or simply feeling a little tired before you step onto your mat.

Yoga equipment is a great way to help ease into your postures and practice & something to be grabbed by both hands! There can be a feeling of am I doing it right, shall I only pick up my yoga brick when everyone else does... Using your yoga brick, block or bolster at any time will only enhance your practice not hinder, to help you find that little extra stretch, balance or stability to get the most of your postures. Find out more below!

YOGA BLOCK

ree

Place your yoga block underneath your glutes, sitting on the front edge to tilt your pelvis anteriorly to enhance your posture & alignment. Gently stretching the hamstrings & glutes shall improve your posture!

YOGA BRICK

ree

Place your hand on a yoga brick upright, sideways or flat to lessen the gap to the floor. It shall ensure your alignment is not compromised & by slowly lowering the brick you shall be able to work on a gentle stretch rather than arching/ bending towards aches/ pains from compensating muscles to correct balance/ posture.

YOGA BOLSTER

ree

Placing a bolster between your chest and legs in postures such as Intense Stretch of the West, can provide comfort if suffering with pain or less elasticity in the spine/ lower back to hold the posture more comfortably. Gently releasing the bolster can work on your stretch more gently to prevent injuries
